Long Island Expressway Fatal: 37-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In 3-Vehicle Crash

A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway.

The incident happened in the eastbound lanes near exit 68 in Manorville, at around 5:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18.

Suffolk County Police said William Sarubbi, age 37, of Riverhead, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with the back of a Ford pickup truck and was ejected from the bike.

Another vehicle swerved to avoid hitting Sarubbi and hit the motorcycle.

Sarubbi was transported via ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead. The other drivers, a 22-year-old Coram man and a 55-year-old Holtsville man, were not injured.

Following the incident, all three vehicles were impounded for a safety check.
